Nederlands: Carl en Karin Larsson combineerden nieuw design met oude tradities. Praktisch dicteerde hun interieurontwerp, maar het was net zo belangrijk dat meubels en objecten een mooie harmonie vormden. Dit ideaal werd ook gepropageerd door anderen, onder wie Ellen Key, die pleitte voor huizen in een nieuwe en lichte stijl, in haar essay "Skönhet för alla" (Schoonheid voor iedereen) in 1899. De Larssons verhuisden in de zomer van 1889 naar Lilla Hyttnäs, een huis in Sundborn. Hier creëerden Carl en Karin samen de interieurs die hun huis beroemd maakten. Karin ontwierp de meubels en textiel, die ze borduurde en weefde. In een van de gangen was een studio ingericht. Het heeft veel opvallende details, waaronder de grappige man die een zuil bekroont.
