Lady Lee, born Margaret Wyatt, grew up in a family closely connected to the court of Henry VIII. Her father, Henry Wyatt, served as treasurer of the king’s chamber, and her brother, Thomas, was the foremost Tudor poet and an ambassador. She is shown here at the age of thirty-four, sumptuously dressed in the courtly fashion of the early 1540s. The painting is close to the manner of Holbein, but the attention paid to decorative effects and linear details at the expense of life-like portrayal of the sitter is indicative of workshop production. The portrait was likely based on a Holbein drawing.

Deze 16th eeuw kunstwerk Lady Lee (Margaret Wyatt, geboren omstreeks 1509) is gemaakt door de noordelijke renaissance painter Hans Holbein the Younger in 1540. De 480 year-old version of the masterpiece was painted with the size - 17 3/8 x 13 3/8 inch (44,1 x 34 cm). Oil and gold on oak was used by the German painter as the technique for the artwork. Today, this work of art can be viewed in in the collection of Het Metropolitan Museum of Art, die zich in bevindt New York City, New York, Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Hans Holbein the Younger was a male engraver, painter of German nationality, whose artistic style was mainly Northern Renaissance. The European artist lived for 46 jaar - geboren in 1497 in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany and died in 1543 in London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom.
