Refer to the Parliament of Paris, it became popular in opposing the new taxes proposed by Mazarin. His arrest on August 26, 1648, provoked an uprising of the people of Paris, the "day of the barricades," the beginning of the Fronde; he was released the next day. In 1651 he was appointed by the slingers, provost of Paris. On the return of the order, he was exiled.
