De meer dan 300 jaar oud kunstwerk genaamd The Dreamer (The Dreamer) is gemaakt door de mannetje painter Jean Antoine Watteau in 1714. The version of the work of art measures the exact dimensions 9 1/8 × 6 11/16 in (23,2 × 17 cm). Oil on panel was applied by the French artist as the technique for the piece of art. The artpiece is included in the Art Institute Chicago's collection, which is one of the world’s great art museums, housing a collection that spans centuries and the globe. This publiek domein masterpiece is supplied with courtesy of Art Institute Chicago. Creditline of the artwork: Meneer en mevrouw Lewis Larned Coburn Memorial Collection.
