In his delicate coloring as well as his moving composition, this posthumous portrait depicting Emperor Matthias different from Emperor Ferdinand I, like his counterpart, (Inv 4271) from the rest of portraiture of the time. Also, the artpiece has the creditline: transfer from the Ministry of Finance, Vienna in 1941.
