The painter Aelbert Cuyp was an artist from the Netherlands, whose artistic style was mainly Baroque. The Dutch painter lived for a total of 70 jaar - geboren in het jaar 1621 in Dordrecht, Zuid-Holland, Nederland en overleed in het jaar 1691.

Although Aelbert Cuyp never visited Italy, this serene and beautifully preserved panel demonstrates his skill in evoking the idyllic qualities of a distant land.
