De inscriptie van het originele kunstwerk is als volgt: signed and dated lower right: F. JASCHKE 1908; Name on the back: In the Shadow. Het is opgenomen in de Belvedère verzameling. The painter Franz Jaschke was a European artist from Germany, whose artistic style can mainly be attributed to Impressionism. The Impressionist painter was born in 1775 in Rosenthal, Saksen, Duitsland en stierf op de leeftijd van 67 in 1842 in Wenen, deelstaat Wenen, Oostenrijk.
