Posed bolt upright in a billowing satin gown, Mrs. Atkinson (born Hannah Wentworth, 1700–1769) is almost a mannequin for the display of opulent textiles. As the sister of the first royal governor of New Hampshire and the wife of that colony's chief justice and richest man, she was as close to an aristocrat as any person in British America. Mrs. Atkinson and her husband found a suitable portrait painter in Joseph Blackburn who was probably born and trained in England, and was thus familiar with fashionable tastes.

The bright & white parts of the work of art shine with a silky gloss but without any glow. The colors are luminous in the highest definition, fine details are very clear, and you can truly notice a matte appearance of the print. This print on aluminium is one of the most popular entry-level products and is a sophisticated way to display artworks, since it draws attention on the whole artwork.

In het jaar 1760 Jozef Zwartbrand creëerde dit klassieke kunst meesterwerk. De 260 jarige versie van het kunstwerk is beschilderd met het formaat: Zonder lijst: 124,7 x 99,3 cm (49 1/8 x 39 1/8 inch) en werd geschilderd op het medium olieverf op canvas. The artwork has the following inscription: "signed left on ledge: I Blackburn Pinxit 1760".
