• Canvasafdruk: The canvas direct print is a printed cotton canvas mounted on a wooden stretcher. Hanging a canvas print: Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. • Print op plexiglas (met echte glascoating erop): An print on acrylic glass, often referred to as a UV print on plexiglass, makes the original artwork into stunning décor. Your favorite work of art is manufactured with modern UV printing machines. This creates the impression of deep, rich colors.
• De posterafdruk (canvasmateriaal): Our poster print is a UV printed canvas with a granular surface structure. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
• Aluminium dibond: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with an outstanding depth. Colors are bright and vivid in the highest definition, the fine details of the print appear very clear.

Legal note: We try everything in order to describe the products as closely as possible and to illustrate them visually in our shop. Still, the colors of the print products and the printing may differ slightly from the image on the screen. Depending on your settings of your screen and the quality of the surface, not all colors are printed as realistically as the digital version depicted here. Bearing in mind that all our fine art prints are printed and processed by hand, there might as well be minor differences in the exact position and the size of the motif.

For centuries, artists and tourists were attracted to Mount Vesuvius, a volcano near Naples. This awe-inspriing, not to say terrifying, natural wonder destroyed the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, and continued to erupt from time to time, as it does to this day. While living in London in 1868, Albert Bierstadt heard that Vesuvius had erupted once again, and rushed immediately to Italy. It is not certain that the artist actually saw the cataclysm, although the painting presents a convincing image of the ash and lava spewed by the volcano. This is a smaller version of a larger canvas now lost.

De meer dan 150 year old piece of art named "Mount Vesuvius at Midnight" was painted by Albert Bierstadt. Signed lower right: ABierstadt / 68 [AB in monogram] was the masterpiece's inscription. Nowadays, the piece of art belongs to the Het Cleveland Museum of Art kunstcollectie. Albert Bierstadt was a painter, whose artistic style was primarily Romanticism. The North American painter was born in the year 1830 in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and deceased at the age of 72 in the year 1902 in Irving, Chautauqua county, New York state, United States.
