Olieverf op doek, overgebracht van hout was applied by the European artist as the technique for the artwork. It belongs to the art collection of Het Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is located in New York City, New York, United States of America. De uitlijning van de digitale reproductie is binnen Landschap formaat met een zijverhouding van 2: 1, inhoudende dat de lengte is twee keer langer dan de breedte. Garofalo was a painter of Italian nationality, whose art style can be classified as High Renaissance. The Italian painter was born in the year 1481 and died at the age of 78 in 1559.

Deze twee scènes uit het leven van Sint Nicolaas van Tolentino, een Augustijnse heilige uit de dertiende eeuw, maakten deel uit van een aan hem gewijd altaarstuk in de Muzzarelli-kapel in de kerk van Sant'Andrea in Ferrara, met als middelpunt een beeldhouwwerk. Ze tonen twee van de vele wonderen van de heilige: één waarin hij een kind tot leven wekte dat was gestorven voordat hij werd gedoopt, en een andere waarin hij, ondanks dat hij bedlegerig en onwel was, weigerde gekookte patrijzen te eten die vervolgens wegvlogen. De scènes zijn opmerkelijk vanwege hun lichteffecten en de schoonheid van de eenvoudige ruimtes waarin de heilige zijn wonderen verricht.
