This allegorical representation of Asia is part of a series of the four continents, painted as an overdoor. It is possible that, like the other large-scale allegorical frescoes in this gallery, it may have been detached around 1900 from the Palazzo Valle-Marchesini-Sala in Vicenza.

About the art print "Asia"

Dit meesterwerk met de titel Azië werd geschilderd door de schilder Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo. The painting has the following size: 32 1/4 x 41 3/4 in (81,9 x 106 cm). Fresco, overgebracht op canvas was applied by the painter as the technique for the piece of art. Today, the work of art is included in the Het Metropolitan Museum of Art digitale collectie binnen New York City, New York, Verenigde Staten van Amerika. Met dank aan Het Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, legaat van Grace Rainey Rogers, 1943 (licentie - publiek domein). The creditline of the artwork is the following: Bequest of Grace Rainey Rogers, 1943. The alignment is in Landschap formaat met een verhouding van 4: 3, meaning that the length is 33% longer than the width. Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo was a male painter, printmaker from Italy, whose style can mainly be classified as Rococo. The Rococo artist was born in the year 1727 in Venetië, provincie Venezia, Veneto, Italië en stierf op de leeftijd van 77 in het jaar 1804.
