The archangel Gabriel comes to announce to the Mother of God the birth of Jesus Christ. Mary is standing in front of a large stool covered with a red cushion. She holds a hand on his chest and his head is slightly tilted in acceptance. His tunic is green and dark blue coat. Before her, the archangel is in full swing. The scene takes place on an architectural background of three buildings richly decorated with floral motifs. This icon belongs to the iconostasis, three other elements are kept at the Petit Palais (PPP4923 to PPP4926). The work faces, mountains and architecture can remind the school of Palekh or, more likely, a workshop influenced by this school.

De 18th eeuw masterpiece "The Annunciation" was made by the painter École de (École de Palekh) Palekh. The original version of the work of art has the size of Height: 34,5 cm, Width: 28 cm. Tempera, Hout (materiaal) werd door de schilder toegepast als medium voor het schilderij. Het originele kunstwerk is gegraveerd met de informatie: Registration - On the upper edge and sides of the Father.
