De materiaalopties

Het vervolgkeuzemenu voor producten geeft u de mogelijkheid om het materiaal en de maat te kiezen op basis van uw persoonlijke voorkeuren. Wij bieden u de keuze uit de volgende varianten:

  • Metaalprint (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with a true depth. For our Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your chosen artwork on the aluminium white-primed surface.
  • Canvasafdruk: A canvas print, which should not be confused with a real artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital image applied directly on cotton canvas. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang the Canvas print without the use of additional wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
  • De posterafdruk (canvasmateriaal): A poster print is a UV printed canvas paper with a granular surface finish. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of around 2 - 6cm around the artwork to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
  • Print op glanzend acrylglas (met coating van echt glas): An print on acrylic glass, often named a fine art print on plexiglass, changes the original artwork into wonderful décor and forms a good alternative option to canvas and dibond fine art replicas. The great advantage of an acrylic glass fine art copy is that contrasts as well as artwork details will be more identifiable due to the fine gradation in the picture.

Wettelijke disclaimer: We try whatever we can to describe our products in as much detail as possible and to demonstrate them visually. Nevertheless, the tone of the print products, as well as the imprint may diverge marginally from the image on your device's screen. Depending on the screen settings and the quality of the surface, not all color pigments are printed 100% realistically. Given that our art prints are processed and printed by hand, there might also be slight variations in the exact position and the size of the motif.

In 1785 the British naval officer John Gell (1738–1806) had just completed his duty on the seventy-gun Monarca, which he had commanded in a series of battles against the French. For this portrait, Stuart used as a model Sir Joshua Reynolds’s heroic "Commodore Augustus Keppel" (1752; National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, UK). In homage to Reynolds, Stuart employed a combination of fine and slapdash brushwork, conveying an image of both heroism and naturalism. He exhibited "Captain John Gell" at London’s Royal Academy of Arts in 1785, when the British portraitist John Hoppner commented that it was “admirably well-painted without trickery to dazzle the eye or mislead the judgment.”
