In the center of the composition, Christ stands in the middle of the Jordan, and standing naked. The Holy Spirit descends on him in the form of a dove. Jesus looks towards the faithful. In his cruciform nimbus, is the inscription in Greek: "O WN" ( "I am the one who is"). At left, John baptized Christ by imposing his right hand on his head, while his left hand holds a volumen. The style and painting faces, imposing, with broad cheekbones and large eyes, evokes the icons painted in northern Russia. It is also in this region that particularly light colors were used. The elegance and modesty of this work and the strong decorative paleography of the inscription in Slavonic allow the date of the seventeenth century.
